How to tackle DI problems which are calculation intensive

Like Sunil Gavaskar once said, the best way to play fast bowlers is to stay at the non striker's end..Likewise in CET, the best way to tackle DI problems is to leave them...(This shoud be the case if your attempts are below 160)...

If you are able to attempt 170+ questions, then you should solve DI problems....Posting some tricks for those ppl....

1) 345 + 323+ 567 + 219

Your mind shud make 3 rounds to quickly calculate the sum

Round 1:- Add all the digits in hundreth place...
that is 300 + 300 + 500 + 200 = 1300

Round 2- Add all the digits in tenth place...
that is 40 + 20 + 60 + 10 = 130

Round 1 + Round 2 = 1430

Round 3:- Add all the digits in units place...
that is 5 + 3 + 7 + 9 = 24

Round 1 + Round 2 + Round 3 = 1430 + 24 = 1454
While this might seem to be a very tediuos process its actually faster than your normal addition process...

Important :- Now if for the above question say you had the following as options to your answers
1) 1232
2) 1454
3) 1563
4) 1769
5) 2137

There was no need to calculate the entire sum. All you could have done is calculate the sum of unit digits which gives you "4" in the units place. Now of all the options available, there is only one option which has "4" in its units place. So mark option 2 as your answer.

..............

2) Use approximation always to arive at ratios

For eg 34/22 is approx 33/22 which is 3/2 which is 1.5...
so 34/22 is slightly above 1.5
